Camille Jones, LCSW
I believe every individual has a need to be heard, understood, validated, and loved. When these basic emotional needs are met the individual feels a sense of dignity, self-worth, and respect. I believe that everyone is valuable and every situation unique. Most emotional wounds happen in the context of interpersonal relationships These include unhealthy childhood experiences, abusive relationships, marital concerns, and work-related challenges. In addition, I believe that every anxious person can experience calmness, every depressed person joy, every angry person self-control, every emotionally broken person healing. While on this journey called life, oftentimes, support is needed to assist us through our most challenging situations. It would be an honor to collaborate with you to help you find the joy you once knew or have never known. Simply put, to help you find yourself again.
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with more than 10 years of experience in the mental health profession. I have worked with various populations in a number of settings from Health Care and School Systems to Juvenile Rehabilitation Programs and now Private Practice. My experience includes assisting children and adolescents, adults, seniors, couples, and families work through complex situations. My counseling philosophy is to help clients overcome adversity to lead more fulfilling lives. My therapeutic approach is to meet you where you are; to provide an empathic and non-judgmental environment while utilizing collaborative and integrative interventions to foster change and growth.
My education in mental health began at Oakwood University in Huntsville, AL where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work. My education continued at Barry University located in Miami Shores, Florida, where I earned a Master’s Degree in Social Work. Following my formal education, I became fully licensed as a Master’s Level Social Worker and now as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker by the Texas State Board of Social Worker Examiners.
In addition to my clinical experience, my husband and I are proud parents of 5 children. For 4 1/2 years, I homeschooled three of our children. Homeschooling provided me the opportunity to lay the foundation for my children’s identity and spirituality, which, I believe, is essential to living a healthy, happy, purposeful life.
